Dr Fentiman is the Head of Department for Women’s Health at Wairau Hospital in Blenheim New Zealand. He serves across the Nelson Marlborough District Health Board as the Lead Colposcopist. Dr Fentiman is a member of the Committee of Management for the Australian Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (ASCCP). He has been involved with the National Cervical Screening Programme since its inception and has chaired the committees that produced the original Operational Policies and Standards and the current Guidelines for Cervical Screening. Dr Fentiman has recently retired from his role as the Clinical leader, Colposcopy for the NCSP but remains as an advisor and involved in the Cervical Cancer Audit. Gary was the “independent colposcopist” to the Cartwright Inquiry who attended the women identified as needing follow up.
