Professor Andrew Grulich is a medical epidemiologist and Public Health Physician. He is head of the HIV Epidemiology and Prevention Program at the Kirby Institute, UNSW Australia, and a past president of the Australasian Society for HIV Medicine and past member of the International AIDS Society Executive Committee. His research interests include the links between infection, immune function and cancer; and the transmission and prevention of HIV and sexually transmitted infections in homosexual men. He is principal investigator of the Study of Prevention of Anal Cancer (SPANC), a three-year cohort study investigating anal cytology, high resolution anoscopy and HPV testing as a possible future anal cancer screening program.
